I sent it by post to Secretary Wright, President Trump, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune. Thanks for the e-mail address for the secretary; I sent it there too.
Ask yourself, who had the most to gain from destroying nuclear power. It's criminal that the tech for super cheap electricity has been held down so long.
In 1972, San Diego Gas and Electric wanted to build a nuclear power plant called Sundesert. Governor Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown nixed it, claiming coal-fired power from the Navajo at Four Corners, combined with imported Mexican electricity, would do the job. The Brown family has extensive oil, gas, and coal interests, including in Mexico. Do you remember when Southern California Gas Company got their tit caught in a wringer because of a leak in a storage cavern in Aliso Canyon, aka Porter Ranch? Moonbeam make them keep it in use. Why? His sister Kathleen owns a 100-acre ranch above it. He also used State resources to survey his land holdings for gas and oil. When his dad's 1958 gubernatorial campaign was going broke, it was bailed out by Getty Oil, Paul Pelosi Sr (Nancy's father in law), and Bill Newsom ("Windsock" Gavin's dad), who was Getty CFO at the time. Mike Shellenberger exposed all this brilliantly in "Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Harms Us All." It's time to end the Brown/Getty/Pelosi/Newsom dynasty in California.
My representative until the last election was Adam Schifferbrains, now replaced by Judy Chu. Now he's one of my senators. The other senator is Alex Padilla. There's little point in sending this letter to them.
I disagree that there is no point to sending such a letter. I know that Schiff and Chu are bluest. But the steady and very convincing arguments for nuclear did move Newsom. (See Diablo Canyon.) Each letter matters. Politicians see them as stats by aides. Once in a while an aide may select one to read to the politician. Politicians get talked to at parties, and politicians remember "stats on that."
When a politician listens to you and you see the wheels turning I'm their head, a major part of what they're thinking is, "What's the support on this?"
I don't know what Schiff's private opinions are. Most politicians don't speak their own beliefs, they speak what gets them elected. Nuclear has to happen. We don't have a real choice if civilization is going to survive.
So, send your letter. Send it like a soldier out of bullets charges the enemy lines with his bayonet. He doesn't expect to make it, but he's not giving up.

Gavin Gruesome is a windsock who doesn't actually stand for anything. I sent the letter to my Senators, who have already said they'll vote against the bill and any amendments to it. I'll send it to Judy Chu if it gets sent back to the House.
LOL Yeah. The winsome Newsom. Windsock Newsom works too.
He is dyslexic, just like Trump. This makes him very good in relationships. Dyslexics are excellent at reading people, reading the room. He's a pander bear.
yes this makes so much sense and should have been put in to place long ago. Our representatives in congress are unaware of so many things which is why it is important for things like this to be presented to them.
Well stated, Van. I hope you have already emailed your letter to Energy Secretary Chris Wright at The.Secretary@hq.doe.gov

It's incredible how corrupt powerful Americans have been & are still allowed to roam free. I like Shellenberger's work, I need to pick up that book.
Pick up my book too.
If you want to make this work, link to a web site that processes automated generation of emails to congress in the correct district.
This is how it is done.

Good point. The Big Beautiful Bill (H.R. 1) was passed by the House on May 22, 2025. For the U.S. House of Representatives, the official website is https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
and the the U.S. Sendate, the official website is
https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm
Note in the United States, a person has one U.S. Representative. Two U.S. Senators are assigned per state.
